I-90 Lane Closures: July 5-20
Here are some tips to help you prepare:
- Biking across the bridge is a great way to avoid traffic congestion
and get in a little exercise at the same time. Need some help
preparing for the two-wheeled commute? Attend Introduction to
Bike Commuting: It’s How We Roll on Wednesday, July 8 at
noon. It’s a free, one-hour workshop led by Cascade Bicycle
Club and hosted by TransManage to help you learn cycling basics.
The workshop will be held at the TransManage office in City Center
Bellevue, 500 108th Ave NE, Suite 210 in Bellevue. To RSVP contact
Melissa
Burkett by Monday, July 6. If you can’t make the class,
visit www.cbcef.org/bike-commuting-bridges.html
for more information about commuting by bike across the I-90 bridge.
- New
traffic cameras: WSDOT added five more traffic cameras to
the traffic flow map along I-90 so drivers can check backups before
they leave home. New cameras are located at Front Street, 161st
Ave S.E., East Mercer Way, Shorewood Dr., and Island Crest Way.
- To help avoid gridlock, WSDOT recommends commuters leave for
work at 6 a.m. or earlier, work from home, vanpool, carpool, ride
transit, bicycle commute, or take an alternate route. Register
at RideshareOnline
to see potential carpool and vanpool matches in your area. Anyone
who registers or updates their current profiles will automatically
receive a $20 MasterCard gift card (while supplies last).
